compose your letter
A compelling letter is not only well written, but it is one that comes from you.
We do provide sample letters for your reference, which you can use as you wish.
However, we urge you to write your own.
Writing in your own words carries more weight than copying a sample letter.
If you are an affected party, please consider writing about your case.

Senators of other states usually will not reply.

find your
Congressperson and Senators.
- Address your letter to
"The Honorable Congressman name ", or
"The Honorable Congresswoman name ", or
"The Honorable Senator name " as appropriate.
- Your salutation can be
"Dear Representative name ", or
"Dear Senator name " as appropriate.
- You can end the letter with "Thank you" followed by "Sincerely".
- You can send the letter to the district office or the Washington, D.C., office.
- Letter content should be to the point. Refer to
pending legislation by bill number
